Elevating yacht operations
with world-class documentation

Why Sentini Documentation?

Sentini Marine was founded on a simple but powerful realisation: the yachting industry deserves the same level of documentation standard found in commercial shipping. Time and again, we experienced new build yachts being delivered with inadequate ‘as-built’ drawings and virtually no technical operations manuals. We knew there had to be a better way—so we partnered with WMT to bridge the gap.

What we offer:

Bespoke Technical Operations Manuals

Every vessel is unique, and the finished article is never exactly as the build drawings specified. That’s why we create fully verified manuals containing all information needed for the safe operation of your vessel. From engine room operations to safety protocols, we combine all technical and safety knowledge into a single, accessible resource—built for the life of the vessel.

Bespoke manuals

Sentini Marine’s Technical Operations Manuals feature clear and concise operational instructions designed to promote consistency and reliability across vessel operations. Each manual includes detailed illustrations of equipment and procedures, beginning with an introduction to the system and its components. This is followed by a thorough explanation of system functionality, step-by-step operating procedures, and routine maintenance guidelines. Critical cautions and warnings are clearly highlighted to help prevent personal injury and avoid potential damage to equipment.

High-Quality System Drawings – Sentini Marine’s Technical Operations Manuals include meticulously redrafted engineering system drawings that reflect the highest standards of accuracy and clarity. All drawings are reviewed and corrected to address any discrepancies identified post-delivery. The updated versions are presented in full colour and accurately represent the geographical placement of equipment on board, ensuring ease of understanding for new crew members and enhancing readability in emergency situations.

To eliminate confusion, extraneous details from the original drawings are removed, resulting in streamlined and user-friendly visuals. These drawings are also provided in an editable digital format, allowing for annotations, updates, and effective use in dry dock planning and fault diagnostics. Prior to finalization, each drawing undergoes a thorough verification process through an on-board vessel survey, ensuring complete accuracy and reliability.

Flexible Formats for Enhanced Accessibility – Sentini Marine Technical Operations Manuals are available in both digital and printed formats to suit a range of operational preferences. Additionally, compact “pocket-books” can be provided for Engineers and Deck Officers, offering quick, on-the-go access to critical information. This ensures that essential operational and safety guidance is always at hand, enhancing crew efficiency, promoting safe practices, maximising availability and helping to safeguard the Owner’s asset from avoidable damage.

Proven Reliability Across the Industry – The documentation system deployed by Sentini Marine is widely trusted and adopted by leading commercial operators such as Maersk, P&O, BP Shipping and Carnival, and is currently in use on over a thousand vessels worldwide. This proven approach is well known among commercial engineers—many of whom are transitioning into the yachting sector—who consistently recognise the gap in documentation quality typically found on yachts. Sentini Marine’s manuals bridge this gap by delivering the same high standard of clarity, consistency, and reliability expected in the commercial maritime industry.

Increased safety

Enhancing Onboard Safety Through High-Quality Technical Documentation
Improved safety on board begins with high-quality information, comprehensive training, and strong vessel familiarity. Sentini Marine’s Technical Operations Manuals play a vital role in achieving this by delivering precise and accessible documentation.

Clear Drawings and Operational Procedures
Accurate and concise technical information is essential during emergencies or equipment malfunctions. Sentini Marine ensures that crew members have immediate access to well-structured system drawings and operational procedures exactly when they are needed most.

Supporting New Crew Integration
Given the frequent rotation of crew—particularly during mid-season transitions or shipyard periods—comprehensive and clearly presented documentation enables new personnel to quickly and effectively familiarise themselves with the vessel.

Validated Knowledge Through Crew Testing
Sentini Marine’s bespoke application software, Fathom, allows senior crew to verify that each crew member has a solid understanding of the yacht’s systems, procedures, safety protocols and equipment. This targeted training approach ensures operational readiness and promotes a safer working environment.

Protecting the owner’s investment

Comprehensive and high-quality technical documentation is a strategic investment in the long-term value, safety, and operational continuity of the vessel.

Preserving Engineering Knowledge
Sentini Marine’s Technical Operations Manuals provide a structured means of capturing and retaining critical build knowledge and engineering insights. This ensures that valuable experience is not lost over time but is instead available to support new crew members with consistent, accurate guidance throughout the vessel’s lifecycle.

Streamlining Shipyard Preparations
The manuals serve as an effective tool for managing shipyard interactions, allowing change orders and warranty concerns to be communicated clearly and efficiently. Any modifications or refit updates can be seamlessly incorporated into the documentation, keeping it current and aligned with the vessel’s evolving configuration.

Enhancing Safety and Reducing Human Error
Well-documented procedures and systems knowledge are key to minimizing operational risk. By increasing crew awareness and understanding, Sentini Marine’s documentation significantly reduces the likelihood of human error—ultimately helping to avoid costly incidents and protect the owner’s asset.
