TRAINING SUITE
Advances in technology have made it easier to reduce risk and prepare crew for emergency situations onboard. Sentini Marine is providing three different forms of learning that will build crew confidence and avoid disaster.
VESSEL FAMILIARISATION SYSTEM
Promoting a healthy safety culture onboard your superyacht will reduce accidents and incidents, save time and money in delays and repairs and help retain crew as they will feel valued by management and owner. FATHOM App-based Familiarisation System is a simple way to continually test crew knowledge of their specific vessel safety information and procedures, promoting a healthy safety culture. FATHOM reduces the pressure on senior crew and provides weekly reports that inform drills and training. If your vessel has a Technical Manual from Sentini Marine, crew can also be tested on the vessel's technical information, further raising the safety levels onboard.
The purpose of this app is to ensure that new crew make themselves adequately familiar with all safety-critical aspects and operation of systems and equipment on board your specific vessel, which are within their responsibility and prior to carrying out actual operations.
It also serves to encourage crew to reference, read and understand the Ship Operation manuals through a series of technical vessel-specific questions which link into key sections of the manual.

Main features include:
-
Multiple choice questions based on vessel's existing ISM and SOLAS manuals and Fire Safety Plan.
-
Physical familiarisation using program tags attached to vessel equipment.
-
Additional questions can be added at any time to reflect incidence onboard, new policies or equipment.
-
Photographs of vessels specific equipment can be used to test familiarisation.
-
The Dashboard can set test frequency and length, as well as show test results, poor performing questions, and more.
-
Option to hyperlinked to the vessels manuals.
-
Operates on crew mobile phones with unique log ins.
STRUCTURED AND MEASUREABLE
This technique enables learning onboard to become conscious and proactive, rather than passive and reactive.
A structured, measurable and methodical approach to familiarisation helps a vessel retain key crew members and develop the skills and knowledge within its crew to create a culture of safety and professionalism.

Benefits to the Vessel
-
Measurable familiarisation of new and existing crew increases safety onboard.
-
Regular familiarisation testing becomes part of the safety culture onboard your vessel.
-
From the dashboard you can see who is participating and who is scoring low marks, highlighting crew performance.
-
Additional training requirements can be pinpointed.
-
Streamlines familiarisation, reducing the burden on senior crew.
-
Reducing risk of injury and damage to equipment, protecting the owners asset and increasing vessel availability.
-
Encourages crew to read the safety documentation prepared for them onboard.

BASIC INSTALL INFORMATION
Safety Documents Familiarisation
The Fathom basic install would utilise the vessel's existing SMS and SOLAS training manual, a GA and the Fire and Safety Plan.
A bank of around 120 questions would be generated from your manuals with multi choice answers and submitted for vessel approval. An app-based testing module is then created in order to assist in familiarisation, safety and crew awareness.

Physical Familiarisation
Approximately 50 pieces of equipment are then selected from the Fire and Safety Plan. Program tags are created which relate directly to each piece of equipment, and are attached close by. An example of a physical familiarisation question; "Where is the emergency stop for the galley?" This is answered by scanning the tag adjacent to the stop button with the user's mobile phone.
BENEFITS FOR INDIVIDUALS
Fathom is a tool which helps individual crew members familiarise themselves with the safety and operational aspects of the vessel, giving them confidence when an issue arises that needs quick decisions and competent actions. When this system of learning is adopted by the entire crew, there is a confidence in the abilities and knowledge of each other. Working systematically through this app prepares a crew member for their next rank or project through gaining a solid understanding of vessel systems and processes.
IMMERSIVE LEARNING
Imagine training in some of the world's most hazardous conditions. Now imagine training for any high-risk onboard or offshore scenario without the risk, while also collating meaningful, measurable data, setting benchmarks, and analysing progress over time using repeatable, sustainable technology.

MASTVR crew training modules help monitor, maintain, manage, and optimise crew's operational performance while ensuring compliance and improving safety.

GENERATOR SYNCRONISATION
From the vessel's main switchboard located in the Engine Control Room, trainees learn black-out recovery, generator synchronisation, and generator load-sharing.
BLACKOUT WATERTIGHT DOOR OPERATION
In this module the trainee learns how to safely operate a watertight door in normal and emergency situations.
MOTOR STAR/DELTA CONFIGURATION
In this module, trainees practise configuring the motor from star to delta and vice versa, recognising the possible requirement to change configuration; and test the motor to demonstrate that the individual windings are in good condition using relevant hand-held testing equipment.
All modules are developed in line with industry standards to ensure compliance at all times.
